Regional Education Cooperatives Association

Welcome to the NMRECA

The New Mexico Regional Education Cooperatives Association (NMRECA) is comprised of ten regional education cooperatives. We are located throughout New Mexico, supporting 68 districts (most of them rural), charter schools, and state-supported schools. Additionally, NMRECA members work directly with the New Mexico Public Education Department on state-wide projects and initiatives.

The NMRECA is affiliated with the NM Coalition of Educational Leaders (NMCEL), the Association of Educational Service Agencies (AESA), the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO), and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD).

Our NM RECA executive director is Bobbie Gutierrez. Bobbie serves as our state executive director and oversees the work of the association. If you or your organization would like to meet with the RECs, please contact Bobbie via email. Please take a moment to read Bobbie’s biography to learn more.

A Message from President Kelley Alsup

As we look ahead to the 2023–2024 school year, I am truly honored to serve as the president of the New Mexico Regional Cooperatives Association (NMRECA). Our commitment to providing support to our member school districts remains constant during this exciting time in education.

The NMRECA includes 10 REC executive directors, their dedicated teams, their deputy and assistant directors, and our RECA executive director. We work together to continue to expand services and support to our rural school districts across New Mexico. We also manage and support several statewide initiatives through our partnership with the New Mexico Public Education Department and numerous other state agencies. We have a solid foundation and will achieve even greater milestones this school year. As we strive for excellence, our mission remains constant:

To serve every student, in every region, every day.

In service,

Kelley Alsup
